Ingredients

  • 1 round loaf eg. Pain de Campagne
  • 3 tbsp pesto sauce
  • 3-4 crisp lettuce leaves, eg little gem
  • 200g Président Sliced Emmental cheese
  • 3 tomatoes, sliced
  • 100g cooked sliced chicken or turkey
  • 70g French Saucisson Sec, or other salami
  • 2 thick round slices ham, approx 75g
  • 50g rocket leaves, roughly shredded
  • 1-2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Preparation

Step 1

Cut the top third the loaf, then scoop out the crumb leaving the walls of the loaf about 1cm / 1/2” thick, scoop out the lid also.

Step 2

Spread the inside of the loaf and lid with the pesto.

Step 3

Start with a layer of the lettuce leaves, followed by half the tomato slices, then the chicken slices, add the salami, then half of the Président® sliced Emmental cheese. Add the rest of the tomatoes.

Step 4

Press all the layers down gently then add the rocket, and drizzle with olive oil. Add the remaining slices of Président® sliced Emmental cheese then finish with the ham.

Step 5

Press the layers again and place the lid on top, tucking in any stray bits.

Step 6

Wrap tightly in cling film and refrigerate overnight.

Step 7

Slice cherry tomatoes if preferred or try adding sunblush tomatoes instead. If more vegetables are preferred omit some of the meats and add strips of roasted peppers, sliced artichokes from a jar in oil, or add some pitted olives and shred baby spinach leaves instead of the rocket. Choose ingredients to suit your taste.
