Ingredients

  • For the Burgers
  • 6 Président Crispy Bakes
  • 2 Brioche Burger Buns
  • Caramelised Shallots
  • 1 Large Tomato
  • Pea Shoots
  • Mayonnaise
  • French Fries or Chips (to serve)
  • For the Caramelised Shallots
  • 400g Shallots, peeled, thinly sliced
  • 50g Butter
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • Large pinch salt

Preparation

Step 1

Make the Caramelised Shallots
Melt the butter in a large saucepan or saute pan over low heat. Add the oil, shallots and salt and cook, stirring regularly for 30-40 minutes until the shallots are a deep amber colour. Don’t be tempted to turn the heat up too high as this will result in burnt rather than caramelised shallots. While the shallots cook, prepare the remaining elements.

Step 2

Cook the Président Crispy Bakes
Place a frying pan over medium heat and add the Président Cheese Crispy Bakes. Cook, turning several times, for 4-5 minutes until crisp and golden and melty on the inside.

Step 3

Assemble the Burgers
Slice the brioche buns through the middle and place cut-side up under a grill until lightly toasted.

Spread the burger buns with a little mayonnaise and top with a generous helping of caramelized shallots followed by a slice of tomato, 3 Président Crispy Bakes and some pea shoots. Spread the burger bun tops with some more mayonnaise and place on top of the burger.

Serve immediately, with fries on the side.
